Everytime I hear a song by teenage prodigy Dhruv Deeking, I am always left astounded by the sheer talent this young boy possesses. Fresh off from delviering a hard hitting verse on socio political themed “Anjaan”, Dhruv continues showcasing his lyrical finesse in “Loyalty over Love” by teaming up with the OG Maashu. What however piqued my interest in the song is the production credit which has been credited to none other than Dhruv.
Maashu and Dhruv are all Game for You as Long as you are Loyal
The song starts off with an insanely catchy chorus reminiscent of the early DHH sound. The chorus aptly sums up the theme of the song with the artists loudly singing together and delivering one single message – ‘Loyalty over love, yeah we play like that!’
Maashu starts off the proceedings with a straight up proclamation that he doesn’t need no support from anyone; because even his opps fold their hands in front of him. He then proceeds to express his loyalty and humility backed with street anecdotes of drug dealing and crime of him and his gang. He ends the verse showering gratitude to his gang and says he doesn’t need to even flex to be relevant in the scene. Maashu’s tight rhymes, hard flow and storytelling makes this a delightful verse.

The second verse is by the young prodigy Dhruv who slides the beat effortlessly. He starts off with multisyllable rhymes and a hard flow in the beginning. But then switches to showcase his melodies which stood out the most in the track. The Gully Gang signed artist starts off by flexing his genuineness. He is honest about his intentions with money and then goes full on flex mode about his gang. With hard bars, impressive melodies and rhymes, Deeking steals the show.
Production
The production credits for “Loyalty over Love” is accredited to Dhruv who does an impressive work at such a young age. The beat starts off with mezzo soprano keyboard loop laced with subtle hums of a female voice. On top of the melodies is a proper trap kick setup with the usual combination of high hats, heavy drums and banging 808s.
Conclusion
All said and done, “Loyalty over Love” is an earworm that grows on every listen. Both the artists stay true to the theme and deliver their rap verses with equal hunger and conviction. Special shoutout to Dhruv for the production and delivering new flows in every song. Not even sky is the limit for the young prodigy!
