LaLa narrates Bombay’s gritty underworld with an international soundscape in debut project “Streets Never Sleep”

Hailing from the streets of Mumbai, LaLa is the latest entrant to the exciting roster of trappers from the visionary trap scene of the country. While the proposition of a trap artist from the streets of Bombay is nothing unique, what sets LaLa apart is his incredibly genuine and hard hitting lyricism backed by head banging melodies.

The Bombay OG has been consistently delivering banger melodies but with “Streets Never Sleep”; LaLa has put out a project for the first time. The EP is 4 tracks long and takes listeners on a compelling journey through the streets and underbelly of Bombay, delving into themes of dominance, deceit, struggle, and betrayal.

Naam Kya Hai & Hood Kaunsa Hai

The EP kicks off with “Naam Kya Hai,” where LaLa starts off by painting a vivid picture of the streets in the most unabashed and gritty way possible. What sets the opening track apart are some anecdotal lines which only a guy who lived in the streets can describe. Lines like “yeh chokre kheechte chain hai, muh pe kapda daal ke” is a flex bar which is very fresh from the Bombay scene. The track’s infectious energy and hard-hitting beats set the tone for the EP, instantly grabbing the listener’s attention.
