Staying true to the cover art, Seedhe Maut has really assembled the Strawhat Pirates in their mixtape. A childhood dream come true for the duo is the theme, with a daily class schedule being the central narrative. Lunchbreak sets up SM in their prime for the album to come.

The Interpersonal Narrative of Lunchbreak
Lunchbreak was that one time back in school when you captured some of the greatest moments of your school life. The fatigue of boring classes and the mind-numbing lectures, and within those lectures you learnt little stuff that remained with you. Then came the Lunchbreak and with renewed energy, you put in everything you had for the next half.
This mixtape is the start of a new era in Seedhe Maut’s journey towards being everything they can be, They have found the purpose they were looking for and it’s going to be a game changer. Calm and Encore ABJ have complemented each other in an extremely fluid form. They stand out and yet they work together. Calm has been exceptional with the production and the vocals and Encore has found a new hunger for rhymes. It is interesting how the entire mixtape feels like a project where there was camaraderie in the air and everyone just went along like a flock of birds.
The variety of sonics was overwhelming
SM delayed the album but they managed to make it worth the wait with the extremely well-thought-out features. The exquisite hardcore street style flow of Raga and Badshah combined with the laidback rhythmic lyricism of Rawal, Yungsta and KR$NA was an epic encounter. A proper representation of Delhi’s combative hip-hop. Tracks like Khatta Flow and Akatsuki have insane replay value and provide so much commercial value to the project as well. Aside from the commercial, the artistic vision to include new wave trap artists such as Qaab, Rebel 7, AB17, Lil Bhavi and Bhaskar is unique with SM adapting to the mellow flow in an instant. It really is an ode to their art. Another aspect of the mixtape is that it is multilingual with features from Sonnyjim and one of the hardest rappers in the country, Sikander Kahlon. Bandzo3ed provided a touch of drill and alt hip-hop to the project and elevated the musicality of the project. The features list is incomplete without mentioning the cross-border contact with Talal Qureshi and Faris Shafi.

The production is nuanced and inclusive
The majority of the mixtape has been produced by Calm and it has really been a shining star. Calm’s production has shown why he is one of the best rapper producers in the game. He has tailored the beats to perfection in all formats whether it is the heavy baseline or the melodic samples like the one used in Khoon and Baat Aisi Ghar Jaisi. It is a testament to his talent. He has used the drums perfectly in Focused Sedated.
The production features by Talal Qureshi and Hurricane add a lot of substance to the project with their carefully placed beats. Dikkat has one of the best beats we’ve seen in a while. Hurricane has immense potential and grows with every track he produces. Asal G also has that personality trait type music which can only be characterized by Talal Qureshi. One of the biggest producers of the project is a hidden feature by Batman on Kavi. He’s the same producer who has the beats for one of the greatest YouTube hits of our time, Procastrination by J. Cole.
The vision of the project was to produce one of the biggest glossaries of music on a stage where hip-hop is catching up. This mixtape will be the next big thing in Indian music and will launch Seedhe Maut to new heights. This is a successful experience with both the commercial and artistic avenues available in the industry.
