Chaar Diwaari teams up with Gravity on a pithy banger ‘Violence’

Chaar Diwaari has proved his calibre in the underground and alternate Hip-Hop scene with a very different outlook on sounds and themes. The Delhi-based artist has built his image, not just in music, but also in the peculiar audio-visuals he creates. With a discography of just six singles and a very celebrated EP, he has found his audience that resonates with the rather eerie yet thematically layered content. His recent single ‘Violence’, is in collaboration with the Bombay-based ace rhymer Gravity. Released on the 17th of August, Violence comes right after the announcement of the 20-year-old’s signing to Def Jam Records.

Violence, just like literally every other track by Chaar Diwaari, has so much to process in just a few listens. Even though he attempts a new sound every time, adding in experimental and fresh elements, he still cooks up a piece that manages to grow on you to the extent that it becomes addictive. Such replay value for alternate Hip-Hop pieces is quite rare, yet he manages to pull it off. Produced by the rapper himself, the sample of Violence seems quite hasty and a bit video game-like combined with perfect drums and hard 808s. Additionally, he implements different elements such as drumrolls, sirens, Dank Rishu’s voice, and a lot more. Such layers make music sound eerie, outlandish, quite fast-paced yet very vibey and complete.

Starting with a very unorthodox hook, Chaar Diwaari sets the setting of the track, followed by Gravity, whose verse sounds quite compatible with the beat. Apart from his diverse discography, Gravity has one of the best features and collaborations with other artists, even the rather dissimilar ones. His part sits in with the environment and contributes to the imperious tone of the track. Being a crazy rhymer, Gravity features his unique rhyme schemes complimenting them with a harder flow and switches. Chaar Diwaari follows with a newer version of his hook, giving way to his verse. He makes his ‘not-giving-a-fuck’ intentions clear with his part, openly disregarding any and everything that irks him. His flow couldn’t be more catchy, with switches and ace vocals he further comprises the assertive feeling the track delivers.

According to the rapper-producer himself, Chaar Diwaari always makes music with potential visuals in mind. His way of creating music is very different from anyone else in the scene. Starting with the sound, then moving to the verses and themes, and ending with a banger music video, he controls every single step of his pieces and hence delivers an intricate yet intense and enjoyable video. The music video violence is themed to be different from his regular thoughtful and dark-esque visuals. What initially seems like a comic skit, the video features Gravity and Chaar Diwaari fighting for a girl, ending up at her wedding with another person, and destroying the event. What happens later is unexpectedly hilarious!
