“Uddhat”, by Shreyas and Vedang, is an illustration of the duo’s musical prowess

Shreyas, the Bombay-Pune-based rapper, has been releasing music since 2017. His last track “Paristithi Extended” with Vedang, a Pune-based producer, yet again displayed the duo’s capability to produce BOPs. Shreyas has been running a crowdfunding campaign named “Rap ‘Til I Hit 6 digits”, which is aimed at supporting him as an artist and helping him create music.

Shreyas’s recent track, “Uddhat”, produced by Vedang, is a treat to his listeners. As a part of the campaign, Uddhat was released on the 28th of July. Uddhat, which runs a bit longer than two minutes, is completely recorded in Marathi. The term “Uddhat” translates to being defiant. He talks about how this word sits right in with his persona and how his bare-faced behavior irks his haters.

“Hyanchi akad fakta aakdyaat, aaple aakde baakdyaat
Nali sarkha saral karnar jo pan ghusel vaakdyaat
Paay nay takat apan ugich kona chya pan faatkyat pan
Aapan paay taaklya nantar 100% takke faatyat”

The track sees Shreyas talk about his skills as a rapper and his perky behavior toward certain things. He also mentions the shows that he has been doing for a while now and the hustle that has been going on since his inception as an artist. With hard-hitting Marathi bars and quotables, one can easily say that his lyricism carried this track. His flow switches and rhyme schemes are other aspects that Shreyas has flexed on Uddhat.

The production sees Vedang, one of the sickest producers in the scene right now. His versatility is undeniably appreciable, be it a soulful, melodic, trap, or just bass-infused beats, Vedang can produce fine pieces. In Uddhat, he can be seen chopping a sample and switching its notes while looping it throughout the track. He adds in 808s and trap-like percussion with other elements to complete the sound.

Uddhat is a certified Marathi banger. The track features Shreyas’s lyrical prowess and Vedang’s ability to produce perfectly as per every rapper’s sound. The song marks the duo’s potential to come up with unsparing pieces now and then. The release of the track was celebrated with shows and listening parties, and a lot of their supporters showed up to experience the track live.
